Assessment 1
For this assessment, I have chosen Ezra Stroller to be my reference and I reproduced two of his photographs .both of the photos that I have chosen have the same theme which is a contemporary building with an expressive massing thanks to the use of shadows and light.
The first picture I have chosen to reproduce is taken in JFK Airport, New York. Taken by Ezra Stroller. A major change amidst the most recent century was the move from high contrast to shading.This is what the photographer was trying to convey in his photography. For my photo ,I tried to recreate the iconic picture ,taken in UTS but with a modern twist to staircases in architecture ,with the use of shadows, light and a bit of editing ,I was able to link the photos to be as similar as they can.
The second picture I have chosen to reproduce is also taken by Ezra Stroller. This photo is taken in 1958 in a lobby. This photograph is amazing because of its simplicity.For my photo, i tried to recreate the lobby picture in UTS main building.I took the photo in the same angle as my inspiration and edited it to enhance the shadows in my photograph.
